Choosing the
right projector system for a room is as important as selecting the right sofa
or coffee table. A person spends a lot of money buying a state of the art home
theatre, but spoils the whole fun by choosing a wrong sized projection screen.
To choose an adequate screen one should take care of the following aspects,
namely :
Size of room: A projector screen should be according to the room size. A general ceiling height we get is of 8 feet, which limits options because the screen cannot be below 5 feet. It should be kept at an adequate height so that there is no straining of necks.
Aspect ratio: It is the term used to depict the ratios between the width and the height of the projection screen. The best ratio to be selected is 16:9 which is compatible with all HD broadcasts.
Material: The best material used for projection screens is vinyl which is coated with reflective coating. This gives the best quality viewing.
Gain: This refers to the light reflecting quality of the screen. The Gain should be such that light only falls on eyeballs and not throughout the room. This can be understood as sharpness and focus of the projection screen.
Room interior: The room should be painted and decorated with warm colors so that light is absorbed and not reflected everywhere. Warm colors provide a soothing and comfortable viewing.
These are some of the aspects which should be considered while choosing the best projector screen size for room.
